Karen Housner
Karen Housner AQS Certified Appraiser of Quilted Textiles
Karen is a Certified American Quilters Society textile appraiser, one of ninety in the United States and Canada and is a member of PAAQT, the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles. She has completed the extensive testing and classes on Insurance, Fair Market and Donation appraisals taught by the American Quilters Society. She has also attended classes and lectures pertaining to appraising, conservation, restoration and dating textiles taught by Gerald Roy, Bobbie Aug, Sharon Newman, and participates in continuing education every year.
Karen is a member of numerous organizations, including the Arizona Quilters Guild, serving on the board for three years, the annual Quilt Show committee for five years and as past President of her local chapter. She travels the state of Arizona as an AQG Traveling Teacher, presenting lectures, workshops and appraising at Quilt Shows through out the state.
Karen is a native Texan and fifth generation quilter in her family. She lives in Gilbert, Arizona with lot of quilts.
